The San Romedio sanctuary is a hermitage
erected on a rock at an altitude of 750 meters. It is located on the eastern
side of the Non Valley between the villages of Sanzeno and Coredo.
The car park is about 100 meters beneath
the sanctuary. An alternative route,
very picturesque, is by car along highway 43D to the Rhaetian Museum, 500
meters north of Sanzeno and then onto a footpath for about 2 km. This path for
some stretches is carved into the rock and quite exposed, but protected by
sturdy wooden railings . Traditionally, Saint Romedio is associated with the
figure of a bear, and close to the sanctuary there is an area which houses this
specimen .
